Effective · Proven · Safe

A ductFIT100 running in a real Australian install — the photocatalytic cell active inside the duct, treating every cubic metre of air that passes and sending oxidising molecules downstream to the room.
The problem with most “clean air” solutions
Filters only catch what physically passes through them — and nothing that has already settled. Meanwhile the places contamination actually takes hold are the ones nothing reaches:
- Surfaces — desks, benches, bed rails and walls are re-contaminated the moment someone coughs, long before the next clean.
- Cooling coils & drain pans — dark, damp and downstream, they grow biofilm and mould that the airflow then carries into the room.
- The inside of your ducting & flexible duct — a UV lamp only disinfects the slice of air directly in front of it; it does nothing to the metres of flex duct beyond.
- Portable purifiers — treat a slice of the air in one spot, and never touch surfaces or the HVAC system at all.
How ductFIT reaches the surfaces — not just the air
Inside the ductFIT cell, a UV source activates a multi-metal catalyst. Reacting with the oxygen and water vapour naturally present in the passing air, it produces a continuous stream of oxidising molecules — hydroxyl radicals, superoxide ions and gas-phase hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂).
This is the crucial difference from a UV-only duct lamp. Those molecules are a gas — so they go wherever the air goes. They leave the cell, travel the full length of the ductwork and flexible duct, pour out of the vents and spread through the whole room, settling onto surfaces, corners, coils and cracks that no light-based system and no filter can ever reach. Then they break back down into water and oxygen, leaving nothing behind.
The result is continuous air and surface disinfection across the entire space — and the HVAC system itself — around the clock, with the room fully occupied.
Powered by patented CAS Technology
Why hydrogen peroxide — and why it is safe in occupied rooms
Hydrogen peroxide sounds industrial, but it is one of nature’s own disinfectants. It forms naturally in the atmosphere (it is part of what makes rain-freshened air smell clean) and your own immune system produces it to fight off pathogens. It works, then it breaks down — into nothing but water and oxygen.
✅ Very low concentration
ductFIT maintains H₂O₂ at 0.04 parts-per-billion levels — 97% below the OSHA workplace exposure limit of 1 ppm (1,000 ppb) averaged over 8 hours.
✅ No residue, nothing to wipe
It decomposes back to water and oxygen after it has done its work — no chemical film on food-prep surfaces, medical equipment or children’s tables.
✅ Designed for people present
This class of technology is validated for continuous use in occupied hospital wards, aged-care rooms and classrooms — people, patients and residents stay in the room.
Honest framing: this is not the same as high-concentration hydrogen-peroxide “vapour fogging”, which floods a sealed, empty room and requires everyone to leave. ductFIT works at a low, continuous, controlled concentration that stays well below occupational limits — which is exactly what makes 24/7 operation in a busy space possible.
Protecting the system — not just the air in it
Mould, biofilm and bacteria thrive in the one part of a building nobody sees: the HVAC system. Cooling coils and drain pans sit wet and dark; the inside of flexible ducting is damp, downstream of the coil and impossible to clean without pulling it apart. Left alone, that growth becomes the source that quietly seeds the whole building with spores and odours every time the fan runs.
Because ductFIT’s oxidising molecules are gas-phase and travel with the airflow, they continuously reach the coil face, plenum, and the full run of rigid and flexible duct — suppressing microbial and mould regrowth where it actually starts. Cleaner coils and ducts mean better heat transfer, lower running costs, fewer musty smells, and less reactive maintenance for the building owner or HVAC contractor.
For HVAC & mechanical services contractors: ductFIT is a simple, low-voltage add-on you can specify and install into new or existing systems — a recurring value-add that reduces coil cleaning callbacks and mould complaints, and differentiates your maintenance contracts. ductFIT’s own laboratory results — mould & virus reduction
An independent 2021 biological analysis by Laboratorios Himalaya (Málaga, Spain), conducted to European standards UNE-EN 13098 and UNE 171330, tested a Clean Air ductFIT unit in a sealed ~10 m³ controlled-temperature chamber against two real biological targets: Aspergillus fumigatus (a common airborne mould) and human papillomavirus (HPV).
The laboratory described ductFIT’s mechanism in its own words: “UV light stimulates a catalytic coating inside the product that reacts with water vapour in the air; purifying H₂O₂ ions are generated and distributed continuously through the air and all surfaces, inactivating biological agents.”

The wider independent science behind gas-phase disinfection
ductFIT belongs to a well-studied class of technology: continuous low-level gas-phase / “dry” hydrogen peroxide and photocatalytic oxidation (PCO). The peer-reviewed research below examines how this class of technology reduces airborne and surface contamination — including in occupied clinical settings and within air-conditioning ductwork. These are studies into the technology class, not tests of the ductFIT product itself; the manufacturer’s own CAS laboratory certificates are available on request.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the hydrogen peroxide safe to breathe?
Yes. ductFIT maintains H₂O₂ at parts-per-billion levels — hundreds of times below the OSHA occupational exposure limit of 1 ppm averaged over 8 hours. Hydrogen peroxide occurs naturally in the air and in your own body, and decomposes to water and oxygen. This class of technology is used continuously in occupied hospitals, aged care and schools. It is not the high-concentration “fogging” that requires an empty, sealed room.
Does it produce ozone?
ductFIT is a low / no-ozone technology, designed for occupied spaces. If you have a specific ozone-sensitive application, tell us and we’ll confirm the right configuration for you.
How is this different from a UV light in the duct?
A UV lamp only disinfects the thin slice of air passing directly in front of it, and only while it passes. ductFIT uses UV to generate gas-phase oxidising molecules that then travel with the airflow through the entire duct system and into the room — so they keep working on the air and on surfaces, coils and duct interiors far beyond the unit itself.
Will it clean my existing mouldy ducts — does it replace duct cleaning?
ductFIT continuously suppresses microbial and mould regrowth throughout the coil, plenum and duct runs, which keeps a clean system clean and slows re-fouling. It is a continuous “belt and braces” control, not a one-off deep clean — heavily fouled ductwork should still be physically cleaned first, after which ductFIT helps keep it that way.
24V or 240V?
Units are currently supplied as 24V, complete with a plug-in 24V transformer at no extra cost. Extra-low-voltage operation is inherently safer to run inside a ceiling or roof space. A 240V hard-wired version is coming soon — ask us if you’d prefer to wait for it.
What maintenance does it need?
No cleaning. The active cell / UV source is a simple annual replacement to maintain full output — that’s it. A monitoring indicator tells you when the source needs changing.
Can HVAC contractors and facilities buy at trade / in volume?
