How Whole-Home Air Disinfection Works
Both APCO-X ULTRA and Enhance-Ion install directly inside the air handling unit or ductwork of your existing residential ducted air conditioning system. They don’t replace anything — they work alongside your current setup.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is UV-C disinfection safe in family homes?
Yes. UV-C lamps are sealed inside the metal ductwork where no occupant can be exposed. UV-C has been used safely in hospitals, water treatment and food processing for over 50 years. Our products are UL 2998 validated for zero ozone emissions.
Will these systems work with my existing ducted air conditioner?
Yes. Both APCO-X ULTRA and Enhance-Ion retrofit into virtually any residential ducted HVAC system — up-flow, down-flow or horizontal. They work with all major Australian brands (Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Actron, Brivis, etc.) and are A2L refrigerant compatible.
How does this compare to a HEPA air purifier or a portable air purifier?
Portable purifiers treat one room. Our systems treat every room your air conditioning reaches, continuously. HEPA filters can’t be retrofitted to most residential ducted systems — bipolar ionisation gives you a comparable result for fine particles without that limitation. And neither HEPA nor portable purifiers address mould inside your HVAC coils, which UV-C does.
Do these systems use a lot of electricity?
Almost none. The Enhance-Ion uses less than 1 watt. APCO-X ULTRA’s UV-C lamp uses around 25 watts (about the same as a small LED bulb). Both run continuously while your air conditioning is operating.
Can I install these systems myself?
No. Installation involves working inside your air handling unit and wiring to a 24V transformer — regulated electrical work in Australia, and a manufacturer warranty requirement. Use one of our authorised installers above, or your own qualified HVAC or electrical contractor.
How quickly will I notice a difference?
Most customers notice the absence of the musty AC smell within days of installing APCO-X ULTRA. Allergy and asthma improvements from Enhance-Ion typically build over 2-4 weeks as the cumulative particle load in your home reduces.
