Description
Philips TUV PL-L 55W HF/4P – Compact High Frequency UV-C Lamp
The Philips TUV PL-L 55W HF/4P is the higher-output lamp in the compact TUV PL-L range, used in professional air and water disinfection units where more UV-C is needed from a single-ended lamp. “HF” means the lamp is designed to run on a high frequency (electronic) ballast.
The lamp emits short-wave UV-C with a peak at 253.7 nm. A protective inside coating helps keep UV output close to constant across the useful life of the lamp, and the lamp glass filters out the 185 nm ozone-forming radiation.
Key features
- Genuine Philips (Signify) TUV PL-L lamp
- Around 18 W of UV-C output from a 535 mm single-ended lamp

Before you order
- Check the marking on your existing lamp reads TUV PL-L 55W/4P HF and that the base is a 4-pin 2G11.
- This lamp must be run on a compatible high frequency electronic ballast. It is a replacement lamp only – ballast and lamp holder are not included.
- For consistent performance, replace UV-C lamps at the end of their rated useful life, even if they still light. Visible blue glow is not a measure of UV-C output.

Warnings and safety
- DANGER: Risk Group 3 ultraviolet product. These lamps emit high-power UV-C radiation that can cause severe injury to skin and eyes. Avoid eye and skin exposure to unshielded lamps. Use only in an enclosed environment or equipment that shields users from the radiation.
- Always isolate power before changing a lamp.
- Contains a small amount of mercury. If a lamp breaks, ventilate the room for 30 minutes, collect the parts (preferably with gloves) into a sealed plastic bag and take them to a local recycling facility. Do not use a vacuum cleaner.
- Plants and materials exposed to UV-C for long periods may become damaged or discoloured.
