Germicidal UV is invisible, silent and does its damage before anyone notices. A technician opening an AHU access panel, an electrician working near a coil fixture, a cleaner in a plant room — none of them can tell a UV-C system is present unless something tells them.
This label tells them. Black and safety yellow, hard to miss, and it says the four things that matter: what the hazard is, what it does, and what to do about it before you go any further.

Where it goes
- AHU and plant room access panels — anywhere a panel can be opened onto a live UV-C fixture
- In-duct UV installations — at the access hatch and at the unit
- Coil irradiation systems — on the housing and at the isolator
- UV-C disinfection cabinets and enclosures
- Upper-air fixtures — particularly where maintenance access is by ladder
- Switchboards and isolators serving UV equipment, so the warning is where the power is
The general principle: put one where somebody could open, enter or energise something and be exposed without knowing.

Duty holders remain responsible for risk assessment, isolation procedures, safe systems of work and providing appropriate personal protective equipment. Where a UV-C installation presents a foreseeable exposure risk, labelling should form part of a broader control strategy rather than stand in place of one.
